Characteristics of polytetrafluoroethylene:
High temperature resistance - operating temperature up to 250 ℃.
Low temperature resistance - good mechanical toughness; 5% elongation can be maintained even when the temperature drops to - 196 ℃.
Corrosion resistance - for most chemicals and solvents, it is inert, resistant to strong acids and bases, water and various organic solvents.
Weather resistant - has the best aging life in plastics.
High lubrication - the lowest friction coefficient of solid materials.
Non adhesion - it is the smallest surface tension in solid materials. It does not adhere to any substance. Its mechanical properties have a very small friction coefficient, only 1 / 5 of polyethylene, which is an important feature of perfluorocarbon surface. Because of the low intermolecular force between fluorine and carbon chain, polytetrafluoroethylene has no viscosity.
No toxicity - physiological inertia, no adverse reactions after long-term implantation as artificial blood vessels and organs.
The dielectric constant and loss of polytetrafluoroethylene in a wide frequency range are very low, and the breakdown voltage, volume resistivity and arc resistance are high.
Radiation resistance: the radiation resistance of polytetrafluoroethylene is poor (104 RAD), which is degraded by high energy radiation, and the electrical and mechanical properties of the polymer are significantly reduced. The application of polytetrafluoroethylene can be processed by compression or extrusion; it can also be made into water dispersing liquid for coating, impregnation or fiber. Polytetrafluoroethylene is widely used in the industries of atomic energy, aerospace, electronics, electrical, chemical, machinery, instrument, instrument, construction, textile, food, etc. as high and low temperature resistant, corrosion-resistant materials, insulation materials, anti sticking coating, etc.
Atmospheric aging resistance: radiation resistance and low permeability: long term exposure to the atmosphere, the surface and performance remain unchanged.
Incombustibility: the oxygen limit index is below 90.
Acid and alkali resistance: insoluble in strong acid, strong base and organic solvent.
Oxidation resistance: resistant to strong oxidant corrosion.
PH: neutral.
The mechanical properties of polytetrafluoroethylene are relatively soft. It has very low surface energy.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (F4, PTFE) has a series of excellent performance: high temperature resistance - long-term use temperature 200 ~ 260 degrees, low temperature resistance - still soft at - 100 degrees; corrosion resistance - able to resist aqua regia and all organic solvents; climate resistance - the best aging life in plastics; high lubrication - with the smallest friction coefficient in plastics (0.04); non viscosity - with the smallest surface tension in solid materials It does not adhere to any substance, has no toxicity, has physiological inertia, and has excellent electrical performance. It is an ideal class C insulating material.
